FPC Music Ministry Shines on Transfiguration Sunday

On Sunday, February 23, 2020,
our Sanctuary was filled with
beautiful music as the
Worship Committee
strives to expand our
ministry of music
during our Sunday morning
worship services.

Ms. Muriel Cotman
was our guest musician,
and her talented performance
of works by
Rachmaninoff and Bach
was a joy to us all.

Also, we welcomed as new members of our choir
two students from Victoria College,
Ms. Marina Lane and Mr. Reagan Rodriguez
from Victoria and Edna, respectively.
Marina and Reagan will be with us each week,
so please shower them with the love and hospitality
that are the hallmarks of our congregation.

Finally, as a special surprise,
Robert Wyatt
played our newly installed
Rogers organ console
for the first time publicly.
As Robert pointed out,
the congregation was able to hear
our organ’s windpipes for the first time
in over two years, including some windpipes
which, due to deterioration over time,
had not been played for over 15 years!

The installation of our organ is not yet fully completed,
and thus over the next several weeks
Robert will be testing and adjusting
the instrument to be certain that it is fully functional.
At the appropriate time, however,
and with appropriate advance notice,
we will dedicate our magnificent organ
during a coming worship service,
and then we will invite the Victoria community
to come hear it in concert in our
acoustically magnificent Sanctuary.

as we worship him in song and music!
