kids_for_christ-v2

During the school year, teens and pre-teens meet on Wednesday evening at the church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for fun, fellowship, and guided Christian study concerning the issues of adolescence (peer pressure, self-esteem, moral and ethical behavior in a secular society, and so on).

“Kids for Christ” is led by experienced Christian educators who seek the right balance of Christian study and wholesome fun among young men and women who are, or soon will be, on the threshold of adulthood.

Each year Kids for Christ take on a service project, as when they prepared “care packages” (with personal notes of encouragement inside) and sent them to military personnel serving in combat zones.  Subject to parental permission, Kids for Christ also make off-site visits, as when they visited the Holocaust Museum in Houston. From pizza to pool parties, fun and fellowship are likewise always on the curriculum!

Kids for Christ do not exist in a vacuum; they are an important part of the worshiping community of FPC, Victoria.  They participate in Youth Sunday, they play handbells during special worship occasions, and they lead processionals (complete with acolytes) and sing on Palm Sunday and other holy days during the liturgical year.

We are proud of our Kids for Christ and their loving and generous leaders.  If there are junior or senior high schoolers in your family, we invite them to come have fun with us in a caring, Christian atmosphere on Wednesday evenings.
