A Glorious Advent Season

After an absence of two Christmases from our Sanctuary,
how wonderful it was for the members and friends of
First Presbyterian Church of Victoria, Texas,
to celebrate the Advent Season in our fully restored
House of Worship!

Hurricane Harvey inflicted massive damage on our building,
but this faithful congregation worked diligently
to find the financial means and the skilled craftspeople to refurbish
our ceiling and lights, our floors, our pews, our front entrance, and our Chancel steps.
Soon our new organ will be fully installed as well.

This Advent Season,
the Worship Committee, under the leadership of Linda Patterson,
worked tirelessly to adorn our Sanctuary, Narthex, Chancel, and Balcony
with beautiful decorations appropriate to the celebration of
the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Enjoy the selection of pictures below to remind you
of the joy of the Advent Season and
the beautiful appearance of our Sanctuary as,
for the first time in two years,
we celebrated Christmastide in the place where we
meet to sing God’s praises
and to contemplate his will for our lives.

The Sparks Family, Colin, Emily, Colin Jr., Corbet, and Colton, were with us to light the candles on the Advent Wreath on the Fourth Sunday of Advent.
With Linda Patterson in the foreground, notice the beautiful view of the back and balcony of our Sanctuary, featuring the new antiphonal division of pipes that will soon be played by our new organ.
Your Pastor and your Choirmaster, who consider it such a joy and privilege to serve this loving congregation, wish all of the members, families, and friends of First Presbyterian Church of Victoria, Texas, a Happy and Blessed New Year!
