We have completed over one million dollars in building repairs as a result of damage our property suffered from Hurricane Harvey. For the same reason, we have also upgraded our organ which now has an Austin console, four manuals, seven divisions (including an antiphonal division), and over 30 ranks of working pipes. If you are musically inclined, you know what all that means, and even if you are not, come hear our organ being played and see if you agree that it is among the finest sounding instruments of its kind in the entire South Central Texas region.
Since we are moving ahead so vigorously in the life of our 178-year-old-church, we decided that we would also invest in upgrading and modernizing of our webpage. In the digital age, it is frequently said that an institution’s webpage is the ‘front door’ of what lies within. This new webpage is our remodeled front door, and we hope you like it.
Please let us know what you think. What more could we include on this website that would be helpful or otherwise of interest to you? Do you like our pictures? Should we have more? Has our textual material helped you understand who we are, how we worship, and what we believe?
After all is said and done, however, you can only get to know us if you literally come through our front door at 2408 N. Navarro Street (just south of Airline). We sincerely invite you to come worship with us. Our prayer is that you will come and that, after you do, you will experience why we love to worship our Lord and our God in this place.
Peace and blessings,
Pastor Jim DeMent
